M for MAGNA

Today I enjoyed a day out with family at Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham.

Thanks to my sister who used some of her Tesco's vouchers for all of us to get in. On the way over it seemed Sunday drivers were out two days early!

We got stuck behind an old couple in their silver car to match their silver hair! on the bad bends on the way to Buxton.

The Science Centre is split into 4 main areas based on: earth, air, fire and water. Outside for kids is an outdoor water play area. When we came out school kids were quite! happy getting wet under the fountains etc in their uniforms.

Before we went in I discovered a new long distance footpath/trail - Trans Pennine Trail.
The Trail from coast-to-coast between Southport and Hornsea is 215 miles (346Km) long.

Dad, sister (L), mum and Ee

My Dad said where were my mum's sheep?!

The former steelworks is a mile long! and lit by eerie blue and red lighting.

Furnace

Air section.

Enjoyed playing air pianos with Ee in the Air section.

On the way down to the Fire section.

Once an hour on the hour! a show called The Big Melt is put on. They no longer turn the furnace on but use pyrotechnics and lighting to good effect.

YouTube video 19! will this one get "Nil Point" as they say in Eurovision or no views?!!

Ee and L in the Fire section!

Lurking in the Water section!

Ee enjoyed shooting water jets at fishy! targets. They even had ice! on parts of the hand rails.

Below video gives an idea! of what I was after picture wise!!

With all the noise and electricity effects! I was waiting for Frankenstein's Monster to appear!!

On the way and way back my Public Footpath radar was in overdrive! spotting the Public Footpath signs.

Once a week I'll try and add a "Where's N today?" blog...........
