Wales Coast Path

Today was another early rise for a 3 hour road trip to North Wales. Port Colman round to Aberdaron on the Lynn Peninsula walking the Wales Coast Path.

Mileage was to be 14 miles with an ETA in Aberdaron of 5 hours.

Unlike previous walks on the Lynn Peninsula the weather wasn't so kind. Rain had been forecast and rain it did!

Early on I heard the word "morning" as the first of two runners passed me on the path.

Note to myself to check for any alterations to the path. I met a couple and like me expected it to head inland at one point. So we did as the signpost suggested and stuck to the coast.

By sticking to the coast I was able to get a video of Porth Lago beach. A favourite of the Welsh poet RS Thomas. The second video to add to my beach collection was Whistling Sands.

There were a lot of ups and downs with some steep sections to test my fitness so at one point I thought 5 hours wasn't looking likely.

Below taken from Strava showing the altitude gained.

So in the end the 14 miles took 4 hours 58 minutes and managed a small run at the end!

Thanks to G for doing the honours in dropping me off at the start and for the road journey home.

Next posts will be the two beaches and pictures of the day.

My next section of the path will be in two parts..
